Planetary Research

Overview: NASA is continually engaged in exciting research on planets, stars, the galaxy and even climate of the planet earth. In this unit, teams will visit their internet sites at the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) to research one of the many projects. Each team will present their findings in a power point presentation.

Part 1: Learning to use netscape and navigate within NASA and wazzu JPL sites.

-Look for a mission that you would like to research.

-Collect bookmarks and "export" them to your personal directory or floppy disc.

-Propose a research topic to your teacher.

Part 2: Research a mission that NASA is, has or will conduct.

-Gather relevant information

-Collect useful images

-Store for later use on a floppy disc, or in your file on drive h:, if you have internet privileges.

Part 3: Design and show a power point presentation on the project.

-Present the factual details about the mission.

-Present the discoveries, problems or other interesting aspects.

-Import images that you have saved that are related to the mission.
